The Northwest Territories or NWT has a total estimated population of 43,539 (2013 census) which lies on the border of two other provinces, Nunavut and Yukon. NWT is again a huge geographical territory extending beyond 1,300,000 km in area. There is also great climate variation from its north to south ranging from subarctic to polar.
The NWT has many natural resources like diamonds, gold, gas and petrol. Companies like BP are major oil producers in the territory. Besides, diamond mining is done by some big names like Rio Tinto and BHP Billiton which account for huge diamond production by them.
The Northwest Territories provides good work opportunities based on their natural resources production strength. It has the highest per capita GDP among all other provinces in Canada.
