2801 Candidates Receive ‘Invites’ in 4th October Express Entry Draw

In recent Express Entry Draw that took place on 4th October 2017, 2801 candidates have received invitation to apply for permanent residence visa. In this draw, candidates with CRS score of 438 or more have received ITAs and are now eligible to apply for Canadian PR. All the candidates now have 90 days time limit to submit their application with completed supporting documents. IRCC intends to complete the application processing within 6 months of time frame.

This was 23rd draw of this year till now and a total number of 72,221 ITAs have been issued so far. This number is surpassing the total number of ITAs issued over last two years. To be eligible to enter the Express Entry pool and get CRS score assigned, a potential candidate first needs to be eligible under any of the Canada’s federal economic immigration programs. The federal economic immigration programs are Federal Skilled Worker Class (FSWC), the Federal Skilled Trades Class (FSTC) and the Canadian Experience Class (CEC).

In recent draw, the CRS cut-off went slightly up in compare to the last draw that took place on September 20. However, the current threshold is still lower than last years’ average threshold. The lowest threshold of CRS point was 413 which was accepted on May 31st draw of this year only.

Soon after the recent draw, IRCC announced that any candidates who have sibling in Canada are eligible to receive additional 15 points. Candidates with French language ability will also get additional 15-30 points. With all these changes, the cut-off went up to 449 points on 28th June 2017.

IRCC is also due to change the level plan for upcoming year and supposed to it within next few weeks. In this plan, they will be announcing target number of immigrants who will be accepted under various programs.
