If you are planning to immigrate to Canada , you will have to specify whether you are moving to Ontario province or some other province of Canada in your visa application profile. This is due to the recent change in the visa rule by the provincial authorities. This rule is applicable on most sought after express entry visa scheme. The Comprehensive Ranking System (CRS) linked to Human Capital Priorities (HCP) Immigration Stream has also been revised.
Earlier, candidates with minimum 400 CRS score were eligible to immigrate to Ontario but now the threshold limit would be determined by the director. The Ontario Immigrant Nominee Program (OINP) has also changed the rule for people who have French language test of CLB 7 or more.
Applicants with ORS score of as low as 350 were eligible to Ontario visa until last month as the province had issued total 3,534 interest notifications in 2018 under the HCP stream. Candidates can apply for provincial nomination after receiving notification from OINP.
Under Express Entry system three classes namely – Skilled Worker, Federal Skilled Trades and the Canadian Experience are included. Those who receive a provincial nomination are at an advantage as they get additional 600 points for their CRS score increasing their chances to get an Invitation to Apply (ITA) under the Express Entry Pool.
